its light gray. but that dont matter i am going to change the color probably. because the back seats have that big pillow back that was in the limited. looks like a granny car. another thing is do the int. qtr. trim panels out of the montes fit the reagles.mine are funky you know when you rub you nail across it just fall apart.

the seats are the same, depending on whose seat covers you use you may have to cut a slit in the bottom foam for another anchoring cable (hard to explain without a picture unfortunately) If converting a bench car you will need to make new mounting brackets for the floor pan, and you will need the seat tracks for the buckets as well.

what do you mean by brackets.back in the day we would drill holes and mount with a nut and a bolt. is there another way to make a mount for the seat?

I did swapout from bench to bukets on my 84 T, used 86 interior. Have seen M/C with GN interior. Monte and Regal seats interchange, different style bucket seats over diffferent years (same inside for same year) floor pan set up for all styles of seats, bucket and bench; may have SAE or metric nuts on 81 or 82 (look at your seat nuts, are nuts metric or sae?SAVE THEM, damage to thread if mixed up!!!usully has M on metric nuts, key word, USUALLY). lower door trim same, upper different (m/c is A body78-87,Regal is Gbody 81-87. color is slightly different due to year difference.85-87 use different color than 82-84. Putting in console? Fab brackets.shifter same olds/ regalOlds lower half console almost same as regal, has little hole. upper half different, but looks ok. m/c console/shifter totally different. Also olds and pontiac panels swap, too. Some FWD seats work, but use different mounting brackets that don't fit on the little mounting towers that seats bolt to. (can't simply drill and bolt down like in old days.) You'l see when carpet is lifted. May have to do minor trim on carpet.

Have the same problem with my 79 Turbo coupe. Car is a factory black Regal w/ plush gramma pillowy red seats. Hate them!!! Looking for a set of hard back vinyl buckets and a vinyl rear seat to install, anybody got any? I would take seats that need repair cause I know a good interior guy that would fix reasonable. Another option is vinyl dye? Anybody had any luck wth that on seats? I've used dye on a dash in my 65 Lesabre conv and I've used it on door panels with success but never on seats. Have visions of red paint on my ass at the next cruise. Nice complete Monte Carlo with almost purple vinyl interior in a local yard. Could try to get those and dye them? :Do No: Anybody got a set of seats? Live near Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa

There's 2 78-80 t/r's in slvage yard near me. can't go there til next friday Aug 8th due to prior obligations. i know one of them has tan highback buckets with column shift. no console!!! only bucket seat car I've ever seen without floor shift. price is probably reasonable; shipping would be more, i think. Try buckets from FWD GM cars, and change out the Tracks with RWD cars tracks. even 4 door FWD buckets work if you change out the recliner mechanism on outer side of seats to 2 door mechanism (find a trashed seat at salvage yard and swap out parts; its easy, just 4 bolts on each seat) Let me Know if youy want me to get them and price for seats alone (no idea as to shipping cost) my zip is 29512, ship from 28352 usually.

The Monte Carlo Turbo has hard backs like the Regal, style just a little different. I can got the column/bucket route, I wouldn't mind that, could always get a floor shifter later. What will the yard ask down there? Price is important because of the shipping cost.

The Monte/Regal/Cutlass/Malibu is a A body to 81 then it was changed to the G body. You are right about the lower door trim, 2 door will only fit a 2 door and 4 door will only fit 4 door & wagons.

The rear quarter trim around the glass is different, you will only be able to use that from a Regal, the bottom half will swap between the A/G body lines but there is some minor differences.
I have an entire Cutlass interior in my Regal except for the quarter window trim.

I had an 82 that i put buckets in that were from an 84. I had no problem because the 4 bolts for the 40/60 bench were already there. They bolted right in.
