I've brought home a rear bumper from a yard, and now I need to get those old bumper stickes off that some star put on there in the mid 80's. Anyone have any good ideas on this one???

There's a spray can stuff made by 3M that you can put on to remove the stickers. I have seen it used on station wagons to remove the woodgrain decals.Works pretty good too.Wont hurt the bumper at all.Not sure the correct name but any parts store should know...Or just use a little patience and a blow dryer and it should pull off too.Just don't tell your wife or girlfriend...It may tick them off...

Go to wal-mart and get some stuff called goo gone. Spray some of it over the bumper sticker, and use your fingernails. It will peel off, you'll have to apply more of this stuff as you go, but it works really well. I have used it to remove the dealer labels from cars I buy.

Ok, since we're on it, I guess I'll have to make my new investment shiny too, any suggestions on that? Any special stuff for cleaning chrome, or just soap and water??? Sounds good that there actually is stuff around to get rid of those old stickers, I was almost expecting an 18 hour ordeal out there with little pieces under my finger nails.

If you don't want to run around, there are two easy household items that will do it. Take a razor blade and roll the edge by running it accross the concrete a couple of times, should lightly roll up edge so won't dig in and won't scrach chrome (or paint if you are carefull)l. Then go out to the garage and find the WD-40 and spray on the sticker and goo, left after you remove the sticker.
