This is just to crazy, the gas tank is stuffed above the exhaust.
I have removed the exhaust, removed the 4 bolts, that hold the tank, removed all hoses and wire. Now how do I get the neck out of the tank.
Is there a trick on removing the filler tube. I just cant get the tank out.

    Please advise
    Thanks

The filler neck on my '64 Catalina had a tab & single screw holding it to the tank. There is also a decently-thick O-ring down near the bottom of the filler pipe. If you cannot pull the filler pipe out, try tightening a muffler clamp on the pipe then prying against that & 'jacking' the pipe out. Perhaps a block of wood to pry against instead of the tank. Also never forget Rule #1 of working on old cars: If it went together, it'll come apart!

    Good luck!

    Thanks,
    will look for a tab/screw.
It has to come apart I just didnt want to damage anything else and was looking for a easy way.
Another option would be to cut the filler between the tank and the top and putting a rubber sleeve inbetween, for easier removal.
    What cha think?

    Thanks
