Hi all, need some help/advice. I need to remove the pass. front fender on my 1971 Skylark to (a) remove the a/c system entirely and (b) repair the rusted ot section if the inner fender and core support under the battery. How difficut is it to remove the fender?? Is it a pain in the --- to put it back on and line it up?? Need some advice?
    Thanks
    Jason

Depends on how rusted the mounting bolts are. I had a couple break off when I pulled mine last week. Make sure you put all the shims back in to the proper position to keep everything lined up when you go back together with it.

    not too bad

Like he said if you put the same shims in it won't be tough to line it up. You will first remove your hood, then just make sure you have all the bolts loose before you remove it, there are some that are harder to notice the location of. Theres a bolt you need to open the door to see and loosen. I did this same thing but i was replacing my radiator core support at teh same time, I removed the outer and inner fender as one peice without separating them. it would help to have a helper, you will need that to get the hood off anyway, (heavier than they look).

If I read your post right you are only repairing the inner fender and removing the A/C. Is that correct? If so, you only need to remove the inner fender and can leave the outer fender mounted and the hood in place.

I just finished removing my AC and installed one of the American Graffiti covers about 2 weeks ago.
