Removing wiper arms on 63/64 Buick

Discussion in 'Classic Buicks' started by BamaWildcat, Apr 9, 2005.

  1. My brake shop has my factory service manual locked up over the weekend (along with my car), so I cannot reference to it.

How do I remove the wiper arms from the vehicle? I need to remove the front cowl, and of course, the wipers need to come off for me to do this. Would I be correct in they just need to be pried off? Or are there any locking tabs? This should be the same for a few number of GM vehicles, I would think.

    Please help.

    Thanks,

I think there is a locking tab under the arm.

Put a towel on the cowl to protect the paint, lift the wiper arm all the way up, pry up on the base opposite the arm. A brake adjusting tool works good for this. Watch out it will snap back and junp out of your hand when it comes loose if you don't hold on tight. They just push back on.
