I just bought a 1962 Skylark convertable. It needs a lot of work. The top is shot and you guessed it, the floors have some rust. It's not as bad as I thought it would be though. Since it's a convertable, is it ok to remove a small section at a time and replace the rusted metal with new sheetmetal cut to fit? Also, I've seen where body shops are now using glue to attach body panels instead of welding. Could this be used to replace those bad areas? I want to learn to weld, but thought this would be much easier and quicker. Any advice would be welcome.
