Repo Mirror. Is there a thread discussing these ?

There's been a little talk on here Jim, but unless I missed it, I haven't seen a tremendous amount.

 

I saw the thread in "Repro Parts", but it was more about bashing one of the vendors than about the part itself. I may have to be the guinea pig on this one.

Says 70 - 72 GS but 70- 72 OEM are not the same.

 

I plan on getting one,just like the repop fenderwell,just so I can see it in real life. The one with the trishield for a 70.

 

Always seemed like it to me.

 

12619 installations on GS cars in 1970. Pretty common option.

 

Frankly I'm surprised the passenger mirror wasn't the first to be reproduced. Nice originals have been bringing an arm and a leg (and now a kidney) for quite some time.

 

I wouldn't think so. Have to consider all the el cheapo Larks and such. Most likely came with non remote mirrors.

 

I have a el cheapo Lark with basic interior and it still has a remote mirror. I wish the pass side was reproduced first too, what the heck!

 

Every 69 Skylark and GS I have owned or parted had the remote mirror. Maybe just a fluke ?

 

I called CARS and spoke to Kevin. He acknowledged that these are repro's and added that there are no plans right now to repop the RH mirror. I told him I thought the RH mirror would be a HUGE seller because most enthusiasts with chrome mirrors want one.

Kevin left it at his initial response that there are no plans to repop the RH mirror. Maybe we should get an electronic petition of sorts signed by the masses and then send it to CARS showing how many Buyers there would be since they already have some portion of the tooling.
