Good news! New email from manufacturer 9/10/03:

"Dan, the 66's are done, waiting on the 65's..."

The list has been updated ---let me know of any changes. Please spread the word to other 65 / 66 owners.

I finally found the set I bought in April 2002 (a little dusty in the pic). Great product. Silver paint not included. Here it is:

 

I'll take one set depending upon price I might take 2. I have a question though, will these lenses work for reverse lenses as well or not. Regardless, definetly want 1 pair, let me know price

The lenses are the front turn signal only. They are not reverse lenses. Price will be determined at a later date - depending on the qty. ordered. I will keep everyone posted right here on this thread.

No word on price yet. The more we can buy as a group, the cheaper they will be.

I'm hoping for a price around $60 (for '65 lenses -- the '66 we be cheaper), but it is not up to me... But think about the price if these lenses went up on ebay $$$$$$$$$...

I also just wanted to mention that I am not getting anything ($$$, etc.) out of this deal. I know that '65 & '66 lenses are very hard to come by, so I contacted this manufacturer regarding a group puchase for all of us at v8buick.com ...:TU:

I got your email the other day, and I haven't forgetten you!!!! I have been very busy... Anyway I think the Sportwagon's used lenses from the Special??? Please double check - The 65's are repros of original part number 5955989. The Skylark lenses had chrome grilles across the lense... Check and let me know.

 

TURN LENSES

THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE. I THINK '65 LENSES ARE THE SAME--BUT NOT SURE. MINE LOOK VERY SIMILAR TO THOSE PICTURED ON A PREVIOUS THREAD, BUT SCREW HOLES ARE SPREAD NEAR THE SIDES. MY LENSES ARE ABOUT 8 1/2" WIDE x 1 3/4" TALL. SEE IF THIS MATCHES.

ALSO, I HAVE BEEN HUNTING FOR SOME AFTERMARKET DOOR SILLS FOR MY SPORT WAGON. ALL THAT SEEMS TO BE AVAILABLE IS FOR COUPES. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

 

I'm probably 10 years out for working on my '65 but if it helps having more in the order, count me in now. I know I'll need 'em eventually!

I have a 65 Special and 65 Sportwagon as parts cars. My wagon has the same bumper as used on the Special. Definitely different than that on the Skylark.

Was there a difference between the lens for the Skylark and the one for the GS? (My car isn't going to be original anyway, so it doesn't matter to me for ordering, just curious).
