I’m trying to replace the headrest lock on the buckets. The replacements seem to be different than what’s on the car. The original ones has the cover and the lock mechanism itself, while the replacements are just a single piece. Even the screws mount differently than the ones on the seats. I know the seats has been converted to buckets at some point (probably off of another car). Let me know if anyone had these replaced properly.

The lock on the left is a 1969 lock, the lock on the right is 1970-72. You can buy the chrome covers from like AMES for the 1969 lock and they are excellent. The headrest post notches on 1969 and 1970-72 are in different places. Do your headrests stay up when locked, now?

Thanks for clarifying. I had a feeling it was from an older car. Those locks don't hold the headrest up anymore. The whole piece needs to be replaced.

Those repro headrest locks aren't all the same either. I got a set from OPG that sat almost on top of the metal retainer. So from the side, you saw between the lock and the vinyl. The ones I got from CARS fit much better.

I see what you mean. I got mine from Inline tube, not sure if they fit to replace the 1969 ones I have now.

What about the seatback buttons? Does "CARS" make the closest ones to originals too?

For the seat back release I used Classic Industries - the box says OPG though.
