72STAGE1, He said he wants $1100 to meet the reserve. The $2000 price is for someone that wants to dunk the ball and end the auction. I’m one of the people that told him he’s leaving money on the table by listing them for $200. He didn’t know what he had and I hate seeing a guy lose money simply because he’s not aware of what he’s selling. The eBay auction will show what 2 people are willing to pay.

Good for you Gary, honesty is always the best policy. :)

I just sold a bunch of parts off my Buick GS because I did a lot of upgrades.

I have no idea what I should sell the parts for, so I told the 3 guys on this forum buying my parts,
I'm just looking for a fair price from them.
I trust everybody on this forum to be honest and fair.

I have met a lot of "outstanding" folks on this forum and they have provided help to me when I needed it. VET

I as well told him they were worth 4 x's what he was asking. Shame on the low ballers who knew the real cost of these headers. Just because someone fairly new had a very cheap price on something and jumped on them doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a fair price for them. He was unsure and instead of people giving him an honest opinion, they wanted a deal. Gary as well was up front and honest with him..

I said I would take them and sent him a message telling him they were worth much more than $200. I gave him a solid offer. Then the ad was gone. He will get good money out of those. IMG_8092.png

On FB he said $200 obo and at least no one had the nerve to make an offer under $200 :). I think I told him they would easily bring $800-$1000 on the open market.

With only two bids, the $1,100 reserve has been met:

a few questions for you guys. are these for 70-72 a body cars? what size primary and collector? how is fitment on 1970 455 gs {do you have to massage and dimple any tubes}? if going on factory a/c car what problems can you expect? i have heard issues with ground clearance, how bad is it? anything else i need to know about m/t headers?
    thanks charlie

1 more question, what is the difference in reproduction M/T headers and original M/T headers?

They fit ‘68-‘72 for sure and have been used on ‘67s and ‘73-4s with little or no difficulty. Cars and headers vary; sometimes the collectors hit the crossmember, sometimes a primary tube hits the steering shaft. Not sure how to fix the former; the latter means dimpling the tube. AC cars make it harder to tighten (and retighten, and retighten…) the bolts at the back passenger side. Ground clearance? You’ll drag them on speed bumps. You’ll occasionally bang them on the pavement when you cross a bridge or railroad tracks.

The originals had four bolt collector flanges versus the repro having three, and I have seen different routing of the primary tubes on the passenger side.

    72STAGE1 STAGE 1 & 2

I sure am glad neither of you were around when I bought my Stage2 heads or my last GS, you probably would have cost me considerably more $$$ no doubt, from your MEDDLING mentality. Before you pigeonhole me as a BAD or Dishonest guy, I offered him several times more than his asking price.
Then you come on here so you can publicly show the world, Look everybody, what a great guy I am!

“ Oh geez, I can’t let this guy sell these for what he wants, it’s my job to stop this injustice!”

Your interference made sure no one was gonna get a good deal and I’m stumped as to why it’s any of your business when you’re not even a player, I don’t see either of you stepping up to pay for them now? Is it you job to make sure that guys without a lot of money , make sure they can’t have nice things? Do you walk such a higher road? When you see a sale with 50% off something that you go in and pay full price out of sympathy knowing full well that ITEM sells for twice that?
This meddling mentality the world has now is completely wrong, and you shouldn’t join in, you made more un-friends than friends that’s for sure.
