I think Chris Lance has a set of 15” repo’s he may sell. He just bought my original 14”s for his 70 and offered to make a trade for the 15’” wheels. You guys who are looking may want to reach out to him.

Steve...it's unfortunate that the wheel reproduction part of your business has to suffer.
Your work reputation is only exceeded by your business reputation...Many have depended on your craft, your business and your product. Thank you again. Mr.Jay B.Britt, Jr.

Steve I have lots of shells I should get rid of, various years, probably have 4 or 5 sets or more. Would this help you out? Gord

It's not the donor core wheels that are the problem. It's the supplier of the new reproduction chrome shells.

Is cutting the original wheels apart and having the original shell re-chromed, then welding them back together an option?

Brian, I did this 1 time for a guy. They charged him $500 for each shell and they didn't look that good. Not really an option I would choose.
If you ever want to part with that DT 400 let me know.

I looked into coker for aftermarket rally wheels. I noticed they only sold the 15×8 in 4.50 backset. Thought the max was 4.25. And what is the best source for these now. Planning on mounting nitto 555r drag radials. 275.60.15. Just want to make sure i have all the clearances. Thanks

That is the correct back spacing for an 8" wheel on a 70-72. The stock wheels were 15 X 7" and they had 4 3/8". 4 1/2" BS will work, you could actually get away with more. The 68-69 guys need 5" or over.

Well crap! I guess that means the 15x8's that I bought at the Nats last month won't fit on my 68... They are supposed to be 4.5" of B.S., maybe I should measure them just in case.

Might depend on the tire, but yes, 68-69 cars need more back space with an 8" wide wheel.

Did Coker tire purchase Wheel Vintiques?

So, coker tire sells them. I have a set of street slicks 275.60.15 for the rear. I am thinking 8 inch rims for these would be better than the 7 inch rims on the car. Will 4.50 backspacing work on my 70 skylark and is it the best bs for those tires?
