I have numerous sets of original Buick valve covers from '67, up to mids 70's, small block and big block. I am offering this first set freshly restored! They have absolutely no typical dents, dings or warpage and are almost better than NOS now. These have been lightly media blasted, (I use coal) inside and out. Primered with a High temp surfacer. Painted with a high temp Duplicolor CERAMIC DE1653 ALMOST perfect match to original Buick RED... I believe these are 1968, 400, altho I am not 100% sure. I used to know the difference. TELL ME If I'm wrong, OK?. Anyway, add your decals & gaskets and they are BOLT ON ready!! Available now for $165 shipped to ANY lower 48. NOW HEAR THIS: IF you have a decent, unsmashed, ungouged, basically RESTORABLE set of SAME YEAR - SAME ENGINE FACTORY valve covers to exchange... I've never done this before but lets try this... Buy mine first, I'll ship them to you, and by the next weekend, take yours off ship them back to me in the same packaging. When I receive them, and determine they are indeed restorable, I will send you $50! SO, in essence, you are buying a semi-professional, newly restored set of Buick Valve covers that you can BOLT ON & GO, for just $115. I just dont know if this idea will fly or not, but it has merit, dont you think? Anyway, I guess we shall see. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
SOoo? uzzled: AM I outa line on pricing? or is there just no interest at this time er whut? o No: FEEDBACK is always welcome! ThanX Guys'n Gals! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Hey Dennis, Nice work! They look great! I'm working on refinishing a set of Poston valve covers, and I'm wondering what high temp surfacer you used on these? Good luck with the sale/swap!
Thoes look exactly like the ones on my 430. I dont think 115.00 is out of line for thoes covers. I bought a set of chrome from a member for 100.00.
Joe...a local paint supplier, restores hi-end 'street rod motors" and he mixes up a special ceramic/epoxy primer for engine blocks. He smooths the blocks down and they look awesome when he's done. Anyway, he gave me about a half quart of the stuff and I mix as I need it... He says the mix is good to about 900 degrees. :TU: Thats all I know! :Brow: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
I like your "core charge" idea. It's a win win for someone. I don't know, but it sounds like a fair price with the exchange.
Thanx Guys! I am gett'n some nice responses on my concept, however, no real takers yet. o No: SOoo, I guess I needta ask... Is there any specific YEAR and size Buick valve covers needed by anyone looking?? 340-350? 400-430-455? I'm listening. :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
I have done similiar with Chrome plating of parts. Sometimes the guys would rather just have theirs done. You could offer to have them send in their valve covers to be restored for the $115 or a quicker turnaround to do the exchange. Just an idea. Best of luck on your venture!
Jim? Jimmy? o No: or is it Josh? :Brow: Whomever...I would like to talk to you...please send me an email: PenWheelz2@ij.net Thanx! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Well Guys. . . . "I" thought it was a good idea..and some of you agreed! :Smarty: But it seems like its just not gonna fly these days. I'm either (A) priced wrong or (B) there is just no interest at this time or possibly (C) all of the above. Oh well I received a failing grade on that concept. Moving onto the next great idea! :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Unless they are chrome or aluminum I don't think you can consistantly get over $100. You'll probably be able to sell off your cores for $40-$50 though with no problem.
