I recently sent 2 qindow trim pieces to a local guy( did an awsome job) but their not re-anodized yet. He did say he could set me up with a guy to re-anodize but i'd like a choice. I'm in the middle of having all 4 of my moldings done. Took and had anodoizing removed and then took to polisher. Will then have re-anodized. Cost for removal and re-anodizing totaled $90. Polishing should be about $75. My molding was in pretty good shape with very few small dents and light scratches. We have a firm which specializes in aluminum and anodizing. Name is Precision Anodizing--Oklahoma City. Removing adodizing made aluminum look dull and softer to touch. I'm told when polished will be as shiney as stainless and anoized coating will protect from weather. Hope this helps. Rod

The Finishing Touch in Chicago does top quality work. Expensive, with a long lead time. http://www.thefinishingtouchinc.com/ Be aware that there are 2 ways to deal with aluminum trim: 1. Strip off anodizing and polish to a high luster. The only down side is you have to polish it occasionally. 2. Strip off anodizing and re-anodize. The only issue is sometimes the redo of the anodizing does not come out as bright as the original. I took the #1 process for my car.
Paul, did you stip off the anodized finish or send it out? I'd like to go with #1 as well. I have no problem keeping aluminum polished. The Western Star truck I drive daily keeps me well trained.
I just sent the trim out, and the vendor stripped the anodizing, knocked out some dents, and then polished the pieces to look like stainless. Be aware that if you are going the concours route, this will not pass muster.....:laugh:
