This is something I should have asked about before I started to play with it. But being a man and a bike mechanic I was sure I could handle it without any direction.

The belts were fully extended so I figured the spring was shot. My problem had to be under that cap that sez DO NOT REMOVE so I pryed it off. :error: The spring went flying. I'm lucky I didn't loose an eye. My son asked, "what the heck did you do?" I tapped out the rod going through the center and then realized that the problem was that the sides were clamed down against the belt reel. pry those apart and rewind the spring, after putting on safety glasses, stick back on the DO NOT REMOVE cover and TA DA works like a champ. On the other one I just pryed the two sides apart :TU: . These things must get stepped on as people get in and out of the car.

don't be an :moonu: wear your :bglasses:
