    Hi all,

Found a set of new Richmond gears for an early 65 BOP 8.2 and want to know if these would work for a semi-daily driver.

Running a 200r4 so 3.90 should be good rpm wise, but have read post about certain gears either noisy or too hard for street duty, and really a pain to get set properly.

If these aren't good for my application is there a current gear mfg that someone can suggest

    Regards,

You just need to set them up correctly...I do not have a problem with Richmond gears...
    We Use Yukon gears
    Motive is fine
    Nitro gear
ALL gears quietness will depend on how well you do the set-up, preloads etc.

How much are you paying for these gears?

I have heard a lot of folklore in my days about gears. Richmond’s are noisy. 3:90 gears are noisy. Etc etc etc. Absolutely not. The only gears that are noisy are gears that are set up improperly. Richmond gears are very hard, and can be a little more finicky to set up,but they can run quiet like everything else.

Agree totally. impatience will doom a rear diff set-up more than anything. :)

    Hi all,

Haven't bought the gears yet, as got a lead on a axle and parts and still waiting on seller to get stuff together, just doing research at this point.

I just didn't want to get wrapped up into a headache before I start. Depending upon how much he wants will determine direction

    Thanks all,
