This to thank Rick :beer and to let all you guys know that he is great to deal with . Rick just transported my 71 body from Portland to St Louis and got it done in whatr seems to be record time ! I tried to deal with another guuy but he eventually was unable to do it , after waiting 3 weeks for him to complete our deal I told him I had another that I was going to go with . Rick stepped up and did me right . I got my car , transported by a board member that took great care with it . And at a reasonable price . So if you have a chance to do business with Rick do it you will not be dissapointed .

    John,

That's great to hear it all worked out ok. How long ago did Rick leave your place? I talked to him a couple of times on his way there, but I couldn't get ahold of him yesterday.

I just got off the phone with Rick. Unfortunately the timing set went south in his truck's 460, while in Missouri. He got towed to a small town and spent a couple days redoing it.

Luckily it was a very friendly small town. They treated Rick like he was the neighbor's kid - stopping by to see how things were going, waving, buying him dinner, etc...

He's back on the road now and will hopefully be back in the Seattle area some time Monday. Unfortunately it kept him from hitting all the wrecking yards and picking up some gold on the way home. They're not open on Sundays.

John, it was a pleasure helping. Thanks for brunch too. You sure have a great wife for letting you park your cars in her garage, and next to her beautiful Suncoupe!

I made it home around 7am this morning. The timing chain was one with the organic gears, and gave way when I was coming to a stop. Luckily I was going to a motel for the night, and just ended coasting to the room.

Working on the truck in the little town of Tarkio, Mossouri was a lifetime experience. I live in a small town, but this place was best. When I came to town around 1pm, the tow truck dropped me off at the Napa store.

The owner, Jason Goldberg and his co-worker, Debbie McCoy gladly sold me everything I needed, and threw in things like rubber gloves, papertowels, etc. The truck was towed there because there were no other auto parts store with the timing chain and gaskets in 100 miles or more.

Picture a town where you find horse dropping on the road and a Homecoming parade in the middle of town with the whole town folk out front watching. Thats exactly what happened!

I had sagebrush blowing on me when I was under the truck, with crickets and locus hopping around.

The Napa store owner's mother and father in law stopped by and asked if I needed anything. He ended up bringing buckets, timing light, and the such.

Every person that drived by or walked by, would wave. It was taking me longer to get it done with all of the folks gathered around. People would bring food and drink and ask how the timing chain was coming along. People that I never even met! Great people! :beer
