i live in a real hot area and with the top up its still noisy. could you use dynomat or other product unnder the conv top and build up a non ugly type of headliner that cuts down heat and noise. i know you would have to cut sections where the folds are...if ridiculous just post that ill get it,marty

I think you may want to consider trading in for a hardtop car.

Dynamat when used on sheet metal stops the vibration that causes unwanted noise. (kind of like a large speaker). Dynamat alone or attached to a soft surface will offer little to no sound deadening capabilities.

    I wouldn't do it.

My 04 mustang has an internal "curton/top" it helps with noise, but it is not a sound deadener:Do No:

Dyno or some similar sound deadening will help with road noise if installed on the floor and doors... even in a convertible.

I asked my upholsterer about the top... he said he could sew up some additional sound insulation (like on newer cars) but that it wouldn't fold down like it does now.

I can cut ya the top off my '67 I'm parting out, and you can make a hardtop cover for your car.
My parents live right by Hollywood, FL (actully used to live there) so free shipping!

Marty--If you decide to install dynomat against the underside of your top, I would appreciate a chance to get down there to see in person what happens the first time the top is put down. :eek2:

...it's a convertible, noise goes with the folding fabric top...as for heat...crank up the A/C...and remind yourself why you have a convertible...
