Dropped a friend at the brothel at 7am and right behind it there were a couple of wrecking yards. It was too early, they werent open yet. is that a riv on the pile?
Looking at the shape of the bonnet, I would say it's not a Riviera. Also, the 1963-1965 Riviera had two little grilles in front of the windscreen, this car has only 1 big grille. Too bad the door is open, now we miss the simulated air scoops for the rear wheels....
The top one does indeed look like a dart for sure, and appears to have some good parts from just that view, and the other pic looks like a '66 skylark convert, and also looks like it may have some useable parts.
The first looks to me like a 67-68 Dart GTS, anybody else notice the cage in it? The second picture is definatly a full size convertable (look at the size of that trunk, that ain't no a-body) and probably from 1965-68. Judging from the mangled pieces and the side panels I would guess a 1966 Full Size Buick (don't recognize the trim but that peak in the hood is familar) or a 1966 Impala convert (the side trim looks familar). Eithery way those are some hammered cars (probably were pretty nice before their accidents) and not worth anything but parts as both probably have frames (or unibodies in the case of the dart) like pretzles. for reference: 1966 Impala: 1966 buick:
Nope, Definatly someone's old Dodge Dart Race car and most likely a 1968 although I can't see the marker lights to tell. It could be a GT but I now doubt it is a GTS since it lacks the hood trim pieces or the holes for them. This is the best reference pic I could find that shows the hood peak and the c pillar: Those cars make awsome race cars and I betcha that one on the pile would make a good race car or street racer project. However you will need to put it on a frame straightner as it looks like it was hit hard on the left side (really hard, look at how the body shifts right just aft of the doorjamb) One of my fondest memories of those cars is a gold one that ate our lunch on Route 110. We had just put a new 305 police motor in my buddy's 77 firebird and we throught we were the shiznit. We headed out to route 110 in search of prey and the dodge pulled up next to us at the first night of the light. I told my buddy the car was out of his league but that didn't stop us. The car was gold and black bumble bee stripe, with a cage and slicks on the street. I could see the driver and his wife (?) and their newborn sitting on the wife(?)s lap. I knew we were in trouble when I saw he cover the infant's ears. When that light dropped that dodge took off hard and we never got with in two carlengths of it. It makes me want to take that beat up mopar a-body down off the pile, build it, and run it hard.
GeeTo, Yep, now that I take a second look I think you are right. Pic # 2 sure looks like a 66-67 Special though, look at that rear 1/4 panel and wheel well area!
First pic is definately a Dodge Dart and the second one is definately a `66 Skylark or Special Convert. Thanks
