    All:

I am researching disc brake conversion kits (noted in a separate post) with the hope of reusing my OE 73 Apollo ralleye wheels. The stock ralleye wheels and tires are like new so I am fixated on brake kits that will allow me to keep what I have in terms of rims/tires.

Is this a fools errand? In any scenario, are drum brake rims going to fit on a new disc brake conversion?

Some kits will state "minimum 14 X 7 rim" however, I doubt all 14 X 7 rims are created equal. Further, I can't be certain if the Apollo rims are 6 or 7 inches wide.

I do have some 71 GS 15 inch steelies and assorted poverty caps to choose from. However, I would need to drop 6-7 hundred on new tires and have more perfectly good crap to trip over that I didn't use. (the original stuff that cam e with the cars) The tires still had the stickers on the treads.

Advice? I really want to go with discs. Stopping is nearly as important as going.
