I am looking for a ring and pinion gear set for a 1970 GS 455. These gears are not the same as the BOP gears that are available from Richmond Gear. I would consider any gear ratio. Can anyone help?

    John,

What are you asking? Are you sure it is correct for the 70 rear?

    Thanks,

    Ron

'68-70 BUICK 8.2 10 bolt gears were avail in following ratios:

    2.56 (high ratio carrier)

    2.73
    2.93 (mid/high ratio carrier)

    3.23
    3.42 (mid ratio carrier)

    3.64
    3.91
    4.30
    4.78 (low ratio carrier)

At this time, only have 2.93's for the '68-70 BUICK 8.2's.
Also have one or two mid/high ratio singletrack carriers.

    Got Posi?

    Ron,
Why not just install a 71-2 Skylark corporate 8.5" rear which will make your life much easier and cheaper than the 8.2" you have now. You can always grind off the lower "ears" to make it look like an 8.2"

    Just an idea :Smarty:

    George,

My car is a concours restored 70 GS Convertible. I was told by one of the judges that they can tell the difference, otherwise you're right, It would be much easier to use the Corporate rear.

    Ok, didn't know that Ron.

Also, just a suggestion, you should add your city and state to your header so people don't ask where you live to ship parts.
