He's going to keep it at his price.

Sticker says $38K. I'm sure he wants to at least make a few bucks.

As nice as these last gen Rivs are, I just don't think they are "collectible" enough yet to bring a premium. jmho

I'm sorry but that car has one of the ugliest rear ends ever put on a production car IMHO. A lot less taper and maybe a little less length would have done them well.

There are more perfromance and SC cars out today, including many much faster. He may find that even a new car like that can depreciate. It will be interesting to see if he even gets his opening minimum as a bid.

My wife had a 96 Riv for a daily driver for 8 years I bought it used for 13000 and had a few problems but all in all it was a very good car. What could you buy for 30K now? I know there are a lot better cars out there but hey it is a new car. I certainly would not pay 30 K for it but I know what you get when you buy new. I just got her a 2006 Gran Prix with 15K miles to drive and shes really not happy. The ride is harsh, the interior layout while attraactive is terrible for her. Cup holder is awkward, no ashtray, and no heated leather seats. I think if she had it to do all over she would buy a higher end car. That was my fault . She was happy with a 86 LX 5.0 until I bought her a Trofeo, Then the Riv. Now she is in a somewhat lesser quality car and is not thrilled. Women what can I say. Atleast I had her drive this one and she decided to get it. The Olds and Riv were surprise purchases by me for her. Funny she seems to think I know more about cars than she does now.

I've been driving my 98 Riviera for almost 2 years, and it is one FINE automobile. Excellent blend of class, comfort, and performance. Sticker was $34k, and I got it at 8 yrs old for $6k, I'd say I stole it. I'm not happy they dropped it after 99, would certainly be interested in a newer one.

If times were better I'd snag it. I bet he drives around the neighborhood in reverse to keep it under 10 miles. Or do the newer car's odometers not take miles off in reverse???

That same car was offered up at least a year ago. Same condition and mileage. he was looking to get sticker price and it never happened. Honestly, if I had the money to throw, I would in a heartbeat. I have a 98 Riviera fully optioned out. Bought it for $12000 with only 19000 miles on it. The greatest car made in the last 20 years at least. For those who poo-poo the last model year, you have no idea what you're missing. Length is perfect, back end is slick and front end is down right evil looking. The rivi will likely be in 20 years what the GN is now. Highly sought and limited production. BTW, horribly underated for performance. Much quicker than you give it credit for. Just ask the WRX turbo guy I left at the last intersection.:Smarty:

You can find a nice used one for $4k-$5k. I'd stick with 97-99.

The Riviera has always been a uniquely styled Buick, not intended to please the masses, imho.

    What year Riviera

Without a doubt, If you want one, seek out the 98-99 and if all else fails, drop to 97. 95 and 96 were not fine tuned and many interior features were not available. For those who have a 96and 95 - I'm not hatin and I hope you realize that. Only flaw I found was the trunk hinges allow for water to seep in and wouldn't you know, I live in Oregon. Lastly, check out you tube for the riviera that the guy installed sequential lighting on the tail lights. Awesome.
