Hi everybody! Is anyone out there running the RobbMc mechanical fuel pump, regulator and tank pickup with E85? Looking at the 1100hp model and using -10 lines.
That's what I run on my dads car,..you don't need -10 tho,...-8 is fine But,...if I was doing it over again,...I would do an Aeromotive tank and pump with the 13220 regulator,..this is a much better approach that is bulletproof and solves the fuel slosh issues that WILL encounter
Not on corn, but I ran a robbmc 1100 with -8 lines on gasoline and it was a great setup. Robb has excellent customer service too. Only reason I don't any longer is due to going to fuel injection. But as good as that setup ran, I'm almost regretting changing from it.
Looking at about 600hp Stage 3 build on E85, hence the -10 lines. I will say cost is becoming prohibitive, especially with Aeromotive stuff. I'm already neck-deep in this build, not that I'm trying to cut corners or anything. Was planning on using the RobbMc pump, regulator and sending unit collectively, figuring they should all play nice together. Fuel slosh is a concern of mine with the stock-style pickup. What can be done (if anything) do to mitigate this issue with a stock tank and sending unit?
Besides installing a Baffle box in the tank there isn't much can be done I tried modifying the pickup to reach further back to no avail,... Holley saturation mat was going to be my next attempt,..hut said the hell with it and did a baffle box,...a simple sump isn't as effective
Tanks Inc. has a very nice tank setup, they also sell in tank pumps that can handle almost any setup you need. Here's the one I used, provides more room for exhaust and coil overs. They have an optional tank that does this and holds more fuel. https://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/...t_id=585/category_id=102/mode=prod/prd585.htm
I'll look into how to set up a baffle box. The saturation mat idea may work as well, another thing to consider. Thanks for your input! Looks like a nice tank setup. I was hoping to not have to replace the tank and go with an electric pump, but if I do this looks like a great option. Thank you!
Good reminder. If I go with an electric pump, I'll be sure to do the same with that as well. I've been burned before with a new starter that didn't function out of the box. Cost me 4 hours of swearing and an extra trip to the auto parts store. Always bench test electrical whenever feasible.
