My neighbor gave me a 4GC carb he found while cleaning out a friends garage. I was curious what it originally came off of. The tag is no longer present and I cant find any numbers on it. The only clue is that there is blue-ish overspray on the base. Looks like the base is made of cast iron. It has a round choke stove and an Oldsmobile style throttle attachment- big hole in lever where throttle linkage would connect to. Anyone have any ideas?

Unfortunatly the 4GC's werent stamped like the Q-Jets. They had a little aluminum tag with the numbers on it. No tag, no numbers. Not sure how else to ID it :Do No:

    gs4u2c Is that a 442?

Tough one. Earlies also have fuel necks that come in from the side. Absent the Aluminum tag, I am not aware of a way to identify what it's off of. You can take it apart to check the jets and metering rods. That will at least tell you if it was likely a big block or small block. So...what number did you want it to be...? :Brow:

It was just sheer curiosity...I guess I'll throw it on the shelf and keep it in stock for future use.
