Besides polishing the well , what can be done to it. Set up is probably most important part if it. Which rod , spring, the well spring. Tension of springs. For up to 600 hp . Single plane or duel plane. It's probably best for duel plane. I have never seen one on a single plane .

I run a Q-jet on the street with the engine in my signature. I have also run at the track with it. I have run a best of 11.60's at 115 with it. It was built by Jim Weise with parts from Cliff Ruggles. Normally, the 1000 Double Pumper is worth 1.5-2 tenths, and 1.5-2 MPH at the track. I much prefer the Q-jet for the street. I get plenty of performance with it, and it sips gas compared to the DP. I have always run both carburetors on a TA SP1 intake. It is a 1972 800 CFM 7042240.

I run mine on open plenum intake and it is perfect for street or strip.
Garter spring pump is important. Cliff has the whole assembly.
