I'm having to replace head gaskets and perform a valve job on my '69 350. My question is should I stick with the '69 rocker set up or convert to the later model style rockers and shafts?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

You have soild pushrods, right? I'd check the wear at the ends, if their worn, they get "tits" on the ends, if you see them, you'll know what I mean. To change over, you'll have to go the lifter, pushrod, and rocker arm assembly changeover and stop up the oil supply hole going through the head. I've heard of it being done on a big block, I assume it can happen on a 350. If you don't have the funds, replace the worn pushrods and/or rocker arms individually.

The ends of the solid push rods appear to be fine and have no major wear. It sounds like I should just stick to what I have since everything looks good.

    Thanks,

    Hello all,

Is there a trick to removing the end caps on 69 rocker arm shafts? Also, two of the thin spring washers on the ends are missing, are these available anywhere?

    Thanks,
    Brandon
