Two questions on a 70 GS Stainless Rocker molding. What's the best way to shine these up? Mines in pretty good shap but it needs a good shine. What is the correct paint color for the two stripes? I see they are some shade of red but it's pretty faded. Any help here is appreciated.

    Thanks

Stripes are orange. Use Dupli-color GM249

Matt, Thanks for the color info. Now if I can just find a way to really make them shine!

Best way is to use a buffer or polishing wheels. I use the 8" buffer wheel on my bench grinder motor and some white buffing compound. Comes out like a mirror. :TU:

Vinyl is a good substitute for paint, if you get a close color match. Easy to apply and a little more fade resistant than paint. Any sign shop should be able to supply stripes, laser cut to the right width ! I used matt black vinyl on the black inserts in the body side mouldings on my Riviera. Looks original, and was easier, and much more permanent than paint ! :TU:

Use 1/4" Tomatoe Red 3M brand, pin stripe. Quick and easy. Looks great.

The vinyl idea is great.I did it on my 68 GS.I tryed painting the stripes in the w/o moldings but it is a PITA.The stripe tape is quick and lasts longer.
