I have a set of solid Roller lifters in my 464 motor and I've always had a oiling pressure problems due to the lifter roller exposing the oiling passage since the lifter does not have a "skirt" around the roller. I will Now be buying another set of "skirted" roller lifters to attempt to fix this problem. I bought these lifters about three years ago when I was stock piling parts for my motor. The only draw back is the skirted lifter makes the cam appear to be a little smaller since it uses a smaller roller. It has the same affect as running a smaller diameter lifter. It doesn't seem to slow Gary G. down any. I figured I'd post this since its another leason learned and another $500 bucks down the drain. Save yourself a buck and a headache and make sure the lifters you buy are skirted. No one will tell you when you buying this stuff about these draw backs but I'm sure they'll have no problem selling you a fix. If someone is interested in a set of roller lifters and has a great idea on how to address this problem, I have a CHEAP set of roller lifters for YOU! Just don't say I didn't warn you! I'm still in Iraq so I won't be pulling them out any time soon. :rant: Keep them Buicks FLYIN':TU:

I'll RUn IT I figure I'll run a new set of good lifters that way I can try a few more new things before I go to a new block. I'll never get my money out of my old motor so why sell it. I can put it to plenty of good use in my car with a good set of lifters. :3gears: When the new block comes out I'll just build a whole new short block. :TU:
