Some people say they fit fine and others say that the timing tab must be ground on. I think I have figured out the deal. I had one on my stock cover and it fit fine. I just had the TA cover put on and it had to be ground on slightly.

Are all the stock covers the same? If so then it is the TA cover that has to be ground on slightly.

while all stock covers might not be exactly the same ,i would say that it is the TA cover that causes the problem .ive built a couple motors with the romac balancers and stock covers and i haven't had a problem yet . mike

The Romac balancers do not hit any of the timing covers at the timing tab. The Romac is much smaller in diameter than the BHJ and OEM balancers, what it is-is thicker. If they hit, it will most likely be at the very front where the oil pan bolts to the timing cover. Both the stock and TA cover can experience the same trouble. Just remove some material from the cover. Now if you are using a block girdle they hit real hard on the front spacer.

Well, I thought I had it figured out. Also, with the TA timing cover made my Stage1 fuel pump fit perfectly with my double roller timing set. It is quite an impressive piece of work.

The ATI balancer requires some grinding on the timing tab
