Yea I know what you mean, you just get burned out on all the chevys :Brow: I went today and saw a 64 Skylark,a 69or70ish GS, and a mid 60's Riviera. So not too many Buicks but I will be taking my 65 Skylark next year since I'll finally have my drivers license even though it is a major work in progress but we gotta represent.Do you take your car? Oh yea by the way I took my heads to Graves and they did a pretty good job, it ended up costing me $280 but I think thats too bad considering I had 6 bad exhaust valves!

Next year I'll take the 68 vert. It should be done by then. I alternate between the Buicks and the street rod year by year for most of the bigger shows.
Glad Jody at Graves did a good job for you. They are not the cheapest machine shop but I have learned the hard way that cheaper is not better. Their work is primo and they stand behind it.
    Good luck with your project
    Jim

Say, doesn't Palm Springs have a car show / classic car sale in April of every year? Thought I read something about that sometime ago and understand it's a pretty large one at that. I lived in Indio in the late '50's throught the 60's. Easter time there (Palm Springs) in the '60's was great fun. Dating myself here. Ha! Had 4 hot running Buicks during that time frame and it was great fun asking other GM, Ford or Chrysler production cars to race. A BUICK? Why shore, why not? Like an old rock song says, "another one bites the dust!" Buicks of the '60's were great fun (still are)..... Jim

Yep! Been there done that too. I hate to admit this, but I was the 1st graduating class out of Indio High School. A senior all four year if you please. Born in San Berdo so know all about the Route 66 gathering. Still haven't made it there yet, but my brother always sends me a event poster and I have them framed and hanging in my garage. Jackson & Hiway 111 at the corner, both of those old schools were attended by me. sigh! Wife was born and raised there and our son born there too. Was great fun growing up there. Used to party hearty out at the dike and on the powerline road. Fishing the canals and Salton Sea were a bonus, but now that Sonny Bono is no longer it's savior, guess the salt is taking over and most everyone has written it off. Oh well.... life goes on. Remember when you left Hiway 111 at Monroe St heading towards Palm Desert and there was nothing but date orchards and Orange and Gratefruit groves. Now it's wall to wall housing and strip malls. Yikes! Jim :af:
