My 1971 GS is in the body shop and I am going with red Two-Stage Polyurethane with sealer on the exterior and the jambs/trunk. How do you rub this out and how long do you have to wait after it is finished to rub it out? Do you use a certain brand or type of polishing or rubbing compound?

    Thanks!

If you have never done this before have someone show you how. You can easily burn through if you are not careful. Most shops reccomend to cut and buff within the 36 hour window. This is when you can do it easily. The longer you wait the harder the clear gets. I would suggest waiting as long a possibly to buff. I know it is harder to polish than but the results are much better. I have seen where the clear shrinks back when buffed too soon.
