what races can this car attend

Heres the deal. 1969 gs stge 1. The car came with a 400 block but that is long gone. Externaly the complete engine looks exactly as a 430 or 455. He has a stock looking 455 in the car but the numbers say it should be a 400. What are his options? Im sure the car is in the 12-13 sec range. Thanks. Finding a 400 is near impossible because all the big cars had bored 400 that came to 430 cubic inches. The replacements pistons tell you to bore the 400 to 430 cubic inches. He wants to participate but why put a 400 that can be borred to 455 when 455 engines are plenifull?

    Chris,
A bigger bore size and an extra 55 or so cubic inches is not going to work in the Pure Stock race. (They P&G engines for CID violations) With the extra cubic inches, the car would fit into the F.A.S.T. class. Where using a 455 block would be legal.

F.A.S.T. rules can be found HERE

So as long as it LOOKS like a 400 block, it's ok? Since there was no 455 in 69...

As Greg says......legal in F.A.S.T. ...... not legal in Pure Stock.
