A friend of mine has generously allowed me to use his '33 RV at the Buick GS Nationals held at Beech Bend Amusement Park Drag Racing Stock Car Racing Oval Track Amusement Water Park ...

Can anybody on this list tell me their experiences camping at BB with an RV?

    Thank you,

I haven't RV camped at Beech Bend, but I have tent camped and found the campground to be one of the best I have stayed at. Good shower house, nice sites, water/electric and real good prices. Nice areas for the RV crowd also. Would definitely do it again.

The way the hotels / motels keep raising prices this may be an option for me in the future.
Would be good if all us buick guys would be in the same area.

We used to camp there back in the late 70's when the park and amusment park was really big. Over 4th of July weekend there would be 5000 plus RV campers there, and they billed it as the largest campground in the world.

Can you camp in an RV in the "pit area" at the GS Nationals, or do you have to park it in the RV camping area overnight?

Jim what time do I have to be ready? I bet you could use a hand with the gas as those get what 7 to 8 mpg? I have camped there before and had a great time . Ask Reg Thompson what its like. He camps every year. Maybe get a spot close to him as those Tim Hortons ice caps make it hard to walk too far!

Jim we have stayed at the Campground many times, always a good time. If we make it this year, we will stay in the campground again.
Very clean and very affordable compared to hotel/motel.

I've camped there a few times, very nice. They wont man the backgate to the track so you have to go around to the front to get in...not a big deal. Think about renting a golf cart to get around makes it a lot easier and if you've got kids they'll love it.
