Not sure everyone saw this in the sticky up top, and I'd hate to have a lot of beautiful cars not be allowed into the show for lack of a fire extinguisher. So go to Cheapo Depot and get one now!
It's a good idea, about $6 on sale at the local Home Depot or Walmart. At the 1993 BCA Regional meet in Flint, we had a Buick Woody wagon pull in the show field with a fuel fire, and a bunch of us grabbed our extinqushers from our cars and saved it! Not something you think about to have handy, but I think I have one in all my old cars, should probably put one in the truck, too! Have one in both garages and the kitchen!
Even better would be to invest in a Halon fire extinguisher. Heaven forbid if something does happen, having one of these saves a lot of mess later.
halon Hey Carl - do those really work? I thought they had to be in an enclosed space, like a computer room? :af: - Bill
Halon was used in computer rooms, I think they have gotten away from that, cause of the ozone issues and are using pure CO2 to take the oxygen away. Halon doesn't make the mess, that's for sure!
