Is there a way to search for a pre-81 car using the VIN? Not looking for anything more than the last registered owner. Possible? Any tips? Tks, Eric
Eric, It is possible. I have done it for about four states. Just look up the particular states DMV on the internet, and get a "request for motor vehicle records" form. You have to pay the state money ($5-15 bucks) and agree not to disclose the info. It's possible, it just takes a while.
