are 70-72 chevelles seat belt bolts the same as a 72 skylark??? i need to attach my belts but the prevous owner stripped the bolts, i removed them by welding to them, now i need new ones and was wondering if chevelle bolts were the same, because i live near national parts depot

    thanks

    Bolts

It appears that Buick had 2:

    1967-72 All #7668784 bolt 1 1/4 long
    1968-72 All #7765672 bolt 1 3/4 long

    Chevelle 1967-70 #7668784

If NPD has them, and the old GM books are correct try the 1 1/4 bolts.

I am almost 100% sure the 72 models were the first year for the Torx style screws. Previous years used a 13/16 hex head screw.

yes they are the Torx screws, size 50 are the threads and lengths right for the ones from Npd?

Threads lenghts for 6 screws are the same, 1.25"
The screws that go into driveshaft tunnel are longer because they have long shoulders which allows the front belts to rotate.

6 screws? i thought there were only 4 (unless you are counting the shoulder belts)i just need the ones for the floor, which are 2 of the smaller ones and 2 or the larger ones, right? thanks for being patient, i just want to make sure i get them right before going to the store.

    No, there are 8 total:

    2 for retractors
    2 for driveshaft tunnel
    4 for back seat belts

Hey THANKS george, i ran up to NPD and grabed the bolts i needed, (wow they are expensive $10 each) they are the same fit as mine, but the head is not a torx fitting, its a normal socket type bolt

so thanks for pointing me in the right direction
