Seat cover source Would you believe these are seat covers? Just finished the back seat on my 56 Special and amazed how good they look for ready made seat covers. Foam backing and fit like a glove. Feels like leather. Will start on the front soon. Already tried them on for size and they look like a good fit too. Saved about $1000 over int. shop quote. For these old flat 50s bench seats they still have patterns. Will let you know where I got them if anyone is interested.
Here is some info: Jerry Zalucki 800-423-6053 Custom Interiors in Ludlow, Ma. Interiors, Mr. - autocraftseatcovers@msn.com Mine were made using their pattern but used my sketch to get desired combination of perforated and smooth vinyl. He sent me some samples of the vinyl first and I also sent him some pictures of my seats to check that his pattern matched what I had. They are presently redoing the front seat backs because the pleats didn't didn't match the seats quite right. Simple fix, just needed the pleated section to be 18 inches instead of 16, so just need to replace one panel. Did a test fit first and they fit like a glove. So if you have done a little work with upholstery and know how use a hog ring plier it's not too bad of job. If you do decide to get some I can give you some advice on installation. My set cost $350 being a custom job with upgraded material. A standard set was $250. The foam backing really is worth the extra $. Roger
