seats

    hi guys, i have some seats that i want to change colors. they are blue and i want to dye them black. i have hear people say that all you need is a can of paint so i tried it on some thing else. when it dried it was tacty even when i put armolah (what you say it) on it. what am i doing wrong? and came you help?....mike
     
  2. Regular spray paint will not dry on certain plastics. Sounds like you found one of them. What you really need is a black "dye". It is sold in spray cans just like paint, but forulated to stick better to the things we spray.

    Since you have paint and condtioner on it now, I would clean that off with mineral spirits or alcohol- test it first, make sure it doesn't eat the plastic. Once it is off, I would paint the panel with "dye primer" to give the dye something real good to adhere to.
