Well after five years of being a spectator, it is time to put the beer can down and join you guys and girls on the track. If all goes to plan, we will unveil our 1969 copo chevelle in September. We decided on a color that will stand out, without standing out, GM champagne. Equipped with the L-72 427, hydra-matic 400 and 4:10 rearend. I cannot wait to be a part of this event and the ones to come.
    See ya in Stanton. Tim

I would think that sanding the block would be illegal in Pure Stocks :Smarty:

    Well,
we just left Dad's place at 10:35, and we have the car blocked out in 320.
The boy's from Car Crafter Customs are coming at 8:00a.m. Tomorrow to pick her up to head for the paint shop. Once there they want to final it out in 400grit, then two loads in the paint booth Thursday and Friday.
Next time I see the thing,it will be painted.:TU:

Tim could probably ask here himself, but I'll ask here for him. Looking for opinions on wheel/tire combo for this car.
I believe COPO Chevelle's were offered with either the 14x7 5 spoke SS wheels, or the common style 15x7 Rally wheel with trim rings and derby caps?
    But....
Would it be O.K. to run a set of steel wheels with dog dishes and redlines??
    What do you guy's think?

    Later,
    Tom

I've got a extra set of 14 -7 SS wheels.

I believe the optional steels are 14x7 XT wheels

steels and reds would be hot -but getting $$$$ lately

Ask Pete- HAHAHA Joking cause I got a mint pair that I wouldn't part with. saving them for something special!!!!

Congrats- on the car. BUT you had better start helpin Tom Block sand!!:beers2:

i have a whole new respect for the guys that restore vehicles for a living, it takes two things i dont have a lot of...money, the other is patience. it is hard to learn how to block sand correctly on your first car without looking like stevie wonder did it, so i just kind of do the little ****, like the stripping of the paint and a whole lot of parts cleaning, it looks like i will have some work to do in the next few weeks with the underside of the car and cleaning up the rear end, ya know, grunt work. take care.

Yes you do, LOT'S of cleaning:laugh:
I think your really going to enjoy this next part. Laying on your back under the car wire brushing the underside. Guess where all that crap falls?

Keep BSing here. 5 more posts, and you'll have your 10, and then you can post pictures.
