Is there a sending unit of some kind on the back of the driver's side head (points towards the firewall)? I have the coolant temperature sending unit in the intake, the oil pressure sending unit in the lower passenger side of the block, but I seem to recall one that goes at the back of that head. There's a wire for something in my original harness too. Does that sound right, or is my memory failing me? (Full-size 1970 w/455.)

I thought the sensor in the head came later in the 70s 455 run.

That sensor monitors cylinder head temperature (not coolant temperature) and operates the "stop engine" light on the big cars.

Yes, the hole in the rear of the head is blind and that " OH **** " too late sensor goes in there.

That's the one I was thinking about! It looks like just the top half of a sensor screwed into the back of the head. Thanks guys!
