    Gary,

What compression are these and what needs to be done to the rods - if anything?

Also, what size motor are they for?

Inline for a bit pending more info.

If these are for a 430 I would be the next in line.

These are for a 455. Compression is like a 71 455 with the dish in it,and stock everything else..but it still depends on if block was decked, heads milled and gasket thickness. You could establish whatever cr you want using those parameters.

So without decking or machining heads, around 8.5:1?

Based on typical properties of the head cc and deck height you'd be about 9 to 1 with a ,040" gasket. If the heads are off, mill them flat anyway to assure a good gasket seal.If you take .010 you'll increase compression to 9.2 to 1 then use a .027" gasket and you'll gain again to 9.6 to 1.

I truly appreciate you doing the calculations but I think I will pass. I want to be at least 10:1 and not have to spend a lot on machining deck or heads.

Yeah, you'll need to get some pistons with less than 15cc in the dish then.
