Shift Linkage Bracket

I noticed that my bracket for my shift linkage is cracked. Before I try to repair it, does anyone have one?

This is the bracket that attaches to the frame and connects the clutch pedal linkage. I just welded the crack and I am going to grind down the weld. Does the bracket get black phosphate or zinc finish?
