    Hi there!

My front shocks are soon to be useless, so I need a new pair.

Any recomendations/experiences on a specific brand?
Im thinking about Edelbrocks but I would like you guys to chime in!
No need for drag shocks btw
    Thanks :TU:

I'm very happy with the KYB gas-a-just shocks on all 4 corners. Around $30/ea, try Summit online.

I have the Edelbrock IAS shocks. I like them a lot. But, of course, they are $$$ at almost $300 for a set of 4.

I had KYB's in my '66 Special, and IAS' in my '66 Skylark. I absolutely LOVED the Edelbrock IAS', but they were VERY expensive when I first bought them in 2001 just after they were introduced. The KYB's did an excellent job for the price, but they just weren't the same as my Edelbrock's.

On my Skylark, they weren't helping in the weight transfer department even with out the sway bar, so I pulled them for a set of Comp Engineering 3-ways. I didn't plan on selling them (seeing as my rear still has IAS'), but depending on how my new shocks work out I may sell the front IAS' from my '66 Skylark.

Any interest, please PM me... But if you're going to make an immediate new purchase, and good handling is what you're after--GO EDELBROCK! :beer

    Ok thanks guys

I think it will be Edelbrock after all.
But I have one more question: Does stiff springs (hotchkiss) work with stiff shocks?
Wouldnt that make it a bumpy ride?
    Thanks! :beer

(Edit: Summit wouldnt ship the shocks to sweden for some reason :Dou: Something about shipment only available by ground, will try yearone and see... )

Funny you ask that TOO! I had the Hotchkis springs with Edelbrock IAS' on all four corners. With an F41 front Sway Bar, and a rear bar the car handled like a slot car on baby 225/70 14" tires. I'm talking, I could draft my buddy's coil-overed suspension'd Civic on curvey backroads.

I once had a guy in the car (who had a '67 Chevelle) when we were on the Civic's bumper absolutely FREAKING out that we were going that fast in the car. He swore his would float completely off the road after the first turn LOL :TU:

The set up doesn't do much of anything for traction from a dead stop, but ***damn does it take to curves :eek2:
