I mean the part the is held down by the cover bolts that the engine harness runs though. Should it be chrome or painted red ?

    Thanks,
    Harry

Harry--did you notice someone staring at you the other day as you were cruising down CR 696(or 969--whatever the name of the road is)? It was a guy standing along his fenceline next to the road  His name is Harry also---you need to stop in and talk with him (I bought my Stage 1 from him)....he's another car nut (recently bought a 70 W31). He said your car looked VERY GOOD cruising down the road. Patton

    George,
Thanks for the info...... I thought I was missing a chromed one.

    Patton,
I didn't notice him, but it had to be me he saw, as I went out to see someone about a center console for the GS that way last week.

    Thanks,
    Harry

Yeah it was you---he heard you coming. His place has a cattle guard with 2 or 4 taller evergreen trees right up against each side of the entrance. I think some type of wooden post fence possibly along the front also. Pecan trees lined up in a field a little ways back. If you see him out there stop in. Patton

Here is a similar question: with chrome valve covers, are the valve cover bolts and washers and the studs for the spark plug wires and the loom that organizes the wires chrome? Where can I get chrome fasteners and the spark plug wire holder?

NoahPerformance usually has them on Ebay
You can also get them directly thru their site, I believe
    the set is $15-17.

Thanks George. Do you have a passenger side 455 exh manifold you can sell me? I broke off a corner... I cant weld this thing, can I?

I'm having hell with these bolts, but I'm down to only one to go.

Unless something has been remade recently the rear looms are not remade.

    I don't have any spare 455 manifolds.
You can weld cast iron but there is a lil trick to it.
You must have clean cast iron, must make a V-notch anywhere place
where you plane to weld, you must pre-heat the area with a torch, then
weld and let it cool slowly. If you don't want to do that, find a manifold here
or take it to a cast iron welder and he can do it.

I think Cars has the three hole looms for the rear. I did see them advertized somewhere.

The rear spark plug wire retainers are not supposed to have 3 holes.

Cars part #s WR-683 for 4 hole and WR-673 for 3 hole. I am stumped on two hole as I have never seen one. I guess 3 looks better than 4 on the rear anywoo

I believe the 3 hole looms are off of the 231 V6 cars.

The 2 hole version is just like the 4 hole. Same clip and shape, and very hard to come by.
