Should I add a Holly 750 for my 350

I have a friend that is all but giving me a Holly 750 for my Skylark 350. My question to you is,
    a. Should I take it, and
    b. What will I need to make this work on my stock 350? Im guessing an intake, sealant and a gasket. Anything else?

I'm asking because my current configuration is horrible. It fires right up with my stock 2bbl, but won't hold an idle and when I go to crank a second time I have to flood it to get it to fire. I am guessing it needs to be rebuilt.

I'm a rookie and know ebay rebuild kits are 30.00. (Yet this is about the price of the Holly carb being offered to me) Hence the reason why I am wondering if I should just take the Holly. I know I will lose gas mileage but that is not too much of a concern.

A Holley 750 will work fine on your 350, BUT your going to need an aftermarket intake ( T/A Performance ) the Holley wont fit the stock 4 bbl intake and certainly wont fit the 2 bbl intake. You could use a 2 to 4 bbl adaptor, but thats Mickey Mouse. I'd get the 2 bbl rebuilt.

Yep, you will need a intake, and a set of intake gaskets, and most likely a air cleaner.... and you will have to ck out the carb linkage... but it will be worth it.... most likely your mileage will pick up , not go down.....
A holley for 35-40 dollars.... either you have a very good friend or there is something wrong with it..... i would buy it in a heart beat....Mark is right ,,, adapters on a 2bbl manifold is mickey mouse.... use adapters only as a last resort.... like installing a holley on a nailhead single 4 manifold....for example....
but you will find the holley is easier to work with, gets good mileage and is very reliable.... Did you ever think about installing a holley 2 barrel on that engine???????
