Show me pictures of 74-76 Electras. I am wondering about what color, I am going to paint my Electra, so it would have been nice to se some pics of these cars with different colors.
Thanks YUK That green metallic was very nice, but since I have blue upholstery, I dont think it will fit my car. My dream interior color is Red; I suppose over there, that it would have been possible to find a part car with that color, but not over here. And since I have used all my left over money on 2 USA trips last year, I have to stick with my blue interior for the time being. But the USA trips were well used money. I had the time of my life and got to know a lot of great people. Can't be valued in money. :bglasses: But, back to the paint colors again. I think this car are made for 2 colors, the body lines that start at the grill and continues over the hood and goes along the side, should be the perfect to separate divide 2 colors, and I am sure that there have to be some big Buicks out there, that is painted in 2 colors. So if anyone has a picture of one with 2 colors painted like that, I would have loved to se a picture of it.
We had a 76 Electra Limited Sedan....white with blue interior....it was nick named the "pimp-mobile" when I was in high school...I'll post some pics tonight when I get home....
Just today a set of microfiches (76-81) arrived. Found ( :Brow: ) a "viewer" somewhere and here it is a 76 Electra from another point of view:
What color is the interior? It seems that the majority of electra limiteds had either the firethorn red interior or tan. Mine has firethorn. Its nice if the interior matches. You can't go wrong with black or white. Light colors make the car look larger than it actually is. If it were my car, I would stay away from the cream colors and the yellow shades. My electra is mt. vernon cream, but it's really ugly right now, so I won't post any pictures. I don't even like nice electras that are mt vernon cream.
My former 76 Electra Limited 2dr. was a darker blue than yours is (I forgot the name of the color), it matched quite well with the interior and the "Landau Cutom" roof also matched the paint. I don't have a digital picture of it.
You have blue interior don't you? With blue interior you could do black, almost any shade of medium blue or dark blue, even white. Are you going to keep the vinyl top? I don't know how silver or dark silver would look with the blue interior. Red probably wouldn't match real well, You can't go wrong with black or white. Light colors make the car look larger than it actually is. If it were my car, I would stay away from the cream colors and the yellow shades. Hi And thanks for all the inputs. :TU: I have blue upholstery and I have been thinking about black, since its so much chrome on these cars I think I will go for a color that shows the chrome and not hide it. Here is a picture of the 73 Grandville I restored. Everybody told me that this color would look bad on a big car like that, but it didnt.
I have two pictures of my 76 Electra mirror that I sold to another board member. You can see the color on it. I still have the body that's been sitting for 5 years now. The car was repainted in it's original color. I have a friend who had a 76 Limited that was the same color as mine but his car had a white full vinyl top and wire wheelcovers instead of the chrome rims and Landau Custom blue top. He sold the car a few years ago but I still see it once in a while and it still looks good.
This 76 Electra soon will be driving around in Berlin, Germany....must say I really like that color (just matter of different taste). 76 Electra on eBay
These fullsizes seem to look fine in blue. One is my '76 4dr, the other is my brother in law's '70 Pontiac. From my wedding, more in the bench under "wedding pics".
