My power seat won't go backwards. It will go forwards and tilt up and down. But the backwards movement and the up-down of the rear of the seat do not seem to work. It will click, but not move. I mainly want to fix the forward and back ability. Tried flipping the wire connector also tried putting power directly to the green wire in this diagram on page 57 http://www.buick-riviera.com/servicemanual/120-93-153.pdf

I stole this picture from a part-out 71 riv on this site http://www.v8buick.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=227769&d=1337212624

Is their a way I can manually move the seat back?
What do you think I need to replace? It doesn't seem to be in the switches, it seems to be the motor(s)

    Thanks

Hi the 6 way seat in mine stopped operating the front rise and lower. I removed the cable and set the height with a square drive in my battery drill, have to do each side separately. I read on a caddy site that it might be the old grease gone hard and stopping the solenoid from engaging , but as yet haven't stripped it to find out

Thank you for the tip. I think that will work.

you might pull the relay apart and lightly clean the contacts with emery paper. maybe it has some corrosion build up on the contacts after 40+ years.
