I need some input before I buy these tires for the front, My rims are 15x7 draglites for the front and 15x10 on the rear with 255/60r-15 tires on the rear . What tires would yall reccomend for the front ?

Its just a street car and I wanted a sort of skinny tire for the front .

235/60/15s will work and look good on the 7" rim.

Your 7" rims and a "skinny tire" don't work well together. Maybe a 5" or 4" is what you need.

Personally, I'd run a 235/60's on the fronts. Minimum would be a 215/70. Anything smaller would look weird. :puzzled: The little bit of extra width of the 235 is nice for stability on the street as well, especially with a BB sitting upfront. Maybe a 225/70 would be a good compromise if you needed a little height over the 235/60. Good luck!

Id say 225/70 would be a good match for a nice, semi agressive look without knowing what car, engine, stance etc,,,
As stated you dont want to go too "skinny" on a 7" rim.
You should post a picture of the car in question.

    What car?

When I had my 65 lark, I ran Cragar Super Tricks 15x8.5 in back with 275 60 15's and 15 x 4's in front with 165r 15. The 165 is basically a standard VW tire size. I ran a 145r 15 in front for a while which I like the look of but it didn't like to turn in the rain very well. If you really want the "big n skinny " look you'll have to get a narrower front wheel.

I am running a 195/60-15 tire on the front of my 65 Skylark on a 7" rim. These are the same size tires came stock on my wife's Dodge Neon SXT on factory 7" rims... Fit fine with no issue- are a bit small and low, but are fine for the street and the track.

I have two sets of tires for the rear- 245/60-15 street tires (GY Eagle GT) and a set of M/T slicks 28x9.5 for the track. Both look good with the little ones up front.

The previous owner of my '66 had 195s on the front on a 14" chevy rallie wheel and 235s on 15s in back, actully doesn't look half bad, but I can chip the tires when I get on the brake hard as I don't think the fronts are wide enough.

I agree, I am using the 165r 15 tires on the front of my Skylark and I think they look good. The rears are 31.5" tall 11" wide BFG radials (285/70/15) on 15X10 wheels:

Alrob... thanks for the reply,.. Just so you guys know,.. the 12 bolt rear in my car is a 1965 chevelle which is 1'1/2" shorter...or 3/4" shorter each side.. Starting in 68` the 12-bolts were wider...just saying the early model 65 & 66 and some 67's will give you a little room off the wheel well lip.

My 15-8 welds have 4- 1/2 back space and I did hammer the frame back, ...only where needed a little.... to give about 3/4" clearence for more room....those tires are wide so side to side movement will happen sometime..

Just a little info that might help somebody...
