am I the only one looking for a skyhawk? when i do a search in cars for sale and cars wanted i get zero hits. kinda weird. well, anyway, im looking for one, if anyone has any leads or is selling one please let me know
There is a couple of FB pages dedicated to the H body / Skyhawk cars. See some for sale once in a while
This is my '75 Skyhawk that is almost exactly like my first '75 I bought new back in the day. Like Briz said, there are several FB groups dedicated to keeping these on the road.
Gary Paine had a serious race car skyhawk. Contact him, maybe the guy want to part with it. This was a serious race car
Sold the Hawk to guys down south. They were at the Nats with it a couple years ago, went 8.6's squirting it. I never went that fast NA.
Here's one in Mass. Long way for you though. https://westernmass.craigslist.org/bar/d/thorndike-1976-buick-skyhawk/7400106773.html
Had one 22-24 years ago. V-6, four on floor, manual discs and steering. Near zero rust southern NM car. Wish I had kept it, sold it for peanuts in the late nineties.
Yeah Dr it was fast and fun. However.if the track condition was marginal you had to "drive" it. From the side it looked straight, but looking from the back it was obvious, thats where Sandy made her observation. Hence the desire to sell it. lol Even though we won a couple Buick events with it. Besides, Scat and Thumper were my roots and just felt right.
It's been a long time, but '77 or '78 as I recall. I think the only upgrade the car had, was the V-6 instead of whatever Four was offered at that time. Guessing? the Pontiac sourced Iron Duke (151 ci / 2.5 L) was in production by that time.
Last Nats there were 2 H body cars running and I made an effort to catch each run they made being as I hope to pilot John / Dennys old car in the near future. It seemed as thought both cars pretty much left and drove about the same despite being set up differently. Its gonna be really different than anything I've driven down the track in the past. Also now the car is gonna be pushing more power and less weight than either of us has had before before.
For that year(s), power brakes were standard as was the V6. From 1975-80 Skyhawk's only came with V6's and power brakes standard.
Stephen, you will have a blast once you get your motor and get to stuff it in this little car By the way, that is my buddies Monza in the background, that car runs 4.50's in the 1/8th mile on motor. He never got to try it on the 400 horse spray. 706 ci BBC in that little car.
yep thats my future ride. Looks a bit different now. All the stickers are gone and installed new windows.
I think these things would make perfect racecars......just not sure my 6'4, 370lbs of sexy could fit in there nicely
