I'm finishing up the body work on my 68 Skylark Custom and I'm looking for some parts. First, if you know what Buick (or other) makes/models use matching parts that would work for what I'm looking for, please post that info. There are several very nice junk yards here and they have lots of older cars I can get parts off of. (example: 69 buick skylark uses the same ____ as the 68 skylark custom) Anyway, here's my list - if you have what I'm looking for you can reply here or email me directly with a price (and pic if you have one) eljefe98@yahoo.com. Tail Light Covers/Lenses Head Liner - Anyone ever use one of the kits they sell on ebay? Window Seals (both front and rear passenger) Cover for handle that slides the seat forward/backward Pillar Posts (must be in perfect condition - i purchased some used ones that are cracked - I can just fix those if I'm going to buy something that needs repaired) Driver/Passenger arm rests (must be in excellent condition) quarter panel circular buick emblems for both sides (driver/passenger) Show quality original (or factory new) exterior door handles (both) driver side mirror (show quality) interior mirror (new condition) metal sticker/plate for the heat/turn signals/wiper/etc - (what's this called?) Any recommendations for bumper re-chrome plating in the ohio area? how much does this generally cost? Anyone done the drum to disc brake conversion on this type of car? Worth it? I've seen complete kits with everything for 700ish dollars. Any recommendations for a good rear-end/gear guy in ohio? I'd like to have the rear-end rebuilt. I'll fill in what I can... 68-9 all Buick A-body (Special, Special Deluxe, Skylark, Skylark Custom, GS). However, some models have the two metal horizontal strips and some don't. Should be available new/repro from any of the aftermarket supliers, e.g. Year One, OPG, etc. Long or short? (12" vs. 16") Short are available repro; I do not think the long ones are reproduced, and pretty rare/hard to find in good shape. Used on assorted Buick and Olds 68-70. 68 Buick only. Same for both sides. Not reporduced. Available reproduction from the usual vendors. I "think" same year Chevelle interchanges, but may be wrong. I know there has been a thread on this before; do a search. 68-69 Buick. Not reporduced From the light switch to the lighter it is part of the plastic instrument cluster, painted. The climate controls are a decal. Someone on here recently did a run of repros to order; not sure if he made extras. See the thread in Repro Parts, from about 8 months ago or so. The stuff that is not reproduced you can try to get in the parts section here, swap meets at Buick events, or E-Bay
For the handles If I remember correctly the 4 A-body's share the same door handle .. For the control unit , ask Capt. Dunzel , read this post http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=74005
I may have a few the things depending: What color arm rest and pads are you looking for. I have a pair of black, not perfect but nice. These are the long ones. Is this a AC or non AC car? may have a good heater control with plate. Not sure what I have. Interior mirror is it a lighted one. I have several of each if it has a chrome back and what color rim around the glass. Piller post covers if you are looking for black I may have some not sure. Thanks Bill.
