Well, I sent my Gauge Custer out for chrome plating with the radio bezel and the under column filler. I have a complete extra gauge set to restore with new lens. Anyone know of a supplier of correct paint for the gauge needles? Buick needles didn.t look orange and not red, kind of a mix with a flat finish.

    Al,

Where did you send it and what was the cost?

I'm waiting to hear back from a local company that does this type of plastic work. Actually, they do all the dash work for the other local company that supplies Graveyard Carz with its dashes.

I'm having my tach and gauges refurbished and recalibrated by a member of this board. He does great work and is very reasonable.

Something to think about while your cluster is out of the car...

Sent it to Vacuum Orna - Metal, It cost a little more then the reproduction, by 30-40 dollars. I will report back with what I paid. I have a full extra set of gauges with a manual transmission speedometer. Can't wait to put this together!

1k?? Is that American dollars? I'll use the TPP one, use a little masking tape and save the 650 bucks.

That's a bit high. The company I use would be a little more then the imported one. Just need to see Mike for the woodgrain transfer. The imported one in not close enough for me.

Thats with a repair of the ears, and then the relettering of each piece, yes, a little high. I have seen their work and it is top notch. Plus no shipping on my end, they are local.

I really have no idea why some are so adverse to the TPP cluster. Once highlighted in black around the woodgrain, it's concours correct

Still waiting on the cluster, seem like a long time so I called, there was an adhesion issue on removing the tape after paint detail. They needed to strip and start over, a bit consurned at this point.

Agreed. So much time and $ saved. I was looking into Spectrachrome for an original cluster, but they wanted as much or more to do that, PLUS I still had to paint it. So I bought one from Todd. Same for the radio bezel. One of the few parts that I am happy to buy as a reproduction.

We've used and installed several of the TPP Dash Bezels and once the small bit of Black is painted in and a Decal Set from Mark installed they look fantastic.

For anyone reading this, I stock Marks Decal Kits now and I'm $20 below Retail on the Dash Bezels!

The "Close Up" photo's below are not mine and the Black Area was not painted in but you can see how nice the woodgrain kits are from Mark!

So for those of us without the wood grain dash trim, is the dash the same, with the black pebble texture?
